Our blog site is in the works. Meanwhile, I am contacting you from an old clergy list. The list update is in the works . Here are a few thoughts from me while we are waiting. Now Jim says to keep the Eastern Catholic Church references to a minimum. We do not want to scare anyone away. But I am an Eastern Catholic priest and my enthusiasm gets the best of me sometime. So, pax vobiscum, and away we go. My thoughts: CDOS, I believe, is an eclectic Christian union of people of all faiths and traditions coming together in thr original meaning of catholic. The term "Catholic" means universal. It was purloined centuries ago by the Roman Christian Church to posit that their church was and is the only true church of God. All others are either heretics or pagans. Hmm...hubris? I believe that we have come together to be free from parochialism and allow the message of Jesus to be spread without the usual institutional caveats that have led to today's mass exit (pun intended). We dare to say that we are GOD on Earth. We follow the road that Joshua (Jesus for you Greek fans) laid out for us. We will never perfect our mission because we are also human. We are the Body to whom the Creator has entrusted the continuing Spirit to develop. Lets share our journeys. Being part of God is exhilarating and fun. It is also the Road to Calvary for many.
